History Gems
Why History?
History is the past of the whole. Heritage is a reminder of the past.
This is the journey through history as we see them. We are looking at the building gems from a past era – not just any old building but those with characteristics or link to a known person or event from the past. These we saw are the remainders – if we do not look after these they might soon disappear and will be lost forever. Some are already ruins and yet still survives. They can still tell a story of their own history for the next generation. These are our heritage to preserve and to admire. The different styles which were reminiscent to the era.
Many people will pass these buildings with the unseen eyes – to some just another building. Some will be replaced by modern structures. Photos will carry the images further and sometime in the future a person will ask the question – what was that and why did nobody care about it?
Through neglect or changes it will lost its appeal. Ignorance or vandalism will result in ruins and eventually will be demolished. This is also a cry to open our eyes and appreciate for what it is – the building gems in its original state and its survival.
This should not be a history of the past but also a live history at the present.
To us it is not only the history of buildings. It can be events and documentation. If not recorded or preserved it will be gone forever.
Most importantly – the best part of history lies in our nature – we need to preserve and care for it. Without nature we ourselves will be forgotten history.
