Randfontein
It was laid out on the farm Randfontein in 1890 and became a municipality in 1929. One of the biggest gold mines is the Randfontein Estate Gold Mine
War memorial

War memorial – Caprivi Moth Club Shell Hole, cnr Mainreef Rd and Randfontein Rd – This memorial commemorates the soldiers from Randfontein who lost their lives during World War 1 and 2. The grounds also display an Atlas Impala Jet and some war gunnery.

Randfontein Estate Gold Mine Military cemetery – opposite golf range – also known as the Jameson Raid British Volunteer War graves. The headstone is in memory to troopers Beatty-Powell and Davies who fell in action during the Jameson Raid in January 1896.

Old Mining Commissioner’s Post and Telegraph’s Office Building – 70 Market St Kocksoord The cornerstone was laid by JHM Kock, member of the Executive Committee of the ZAR on 5 March 1898. The Architect was Sytze Wierda. and contractor G belucci and Co – This building now used as a library. This building was declared a Provincial heritage site in 1991.
