Bethal
Bethal was established on a portion the farm Blesbokspruit in 1880. It was proclaimed a municipality in 1921. It was named after Elizabeth du Plooy and Alida Naude, wives of the original owners of the farm.

Gereformeerde Church, Vermooten st (63 Tsibitsa Sibanyoni st) – the cornerstone was laid by Ds Petrus Postma. The church was inaugurated in October 1914.
Old Magistrate’s building

Old Magistrate’s building, Market st – This building was designed in 1893 by Sytzke Wierda of the ZAR. This building was declared a National Monument.
Old Nederduitse Herformde Church

Old Nederduitse Herformde Church, 72 Vermooten st – This stone church was designed by Gerhard Moerdijk. The cornerstone was laid by the reverend LE Brand on 23 January 1926. A new church was built in 1965 next to this church. This churh was declared a National Monument.
