Grave – Danie Theron

• Grave – Danie Theron – Commandant Danie Theron and his corps operated in the western Witwatersrand during the 2nd Anglo Boer War. On 5 September 1900 he became involved in a skirmish with a British unit supported by artillery at Elandsfontein near the current Fochville. He was killed by a lyddite shell. He was buried by the British. Reburied in 1903 next to his beloved Hannie Neethling who died in 1898.
