  • Mining Head gear – Fig Place cnr Vickers Rd City Deep this head gear was for the old City Deep Mine which started circa 1893

Rand Pioneers Memorial

  • Rand Pioneers Memorial, Pioneers Park, Turf road – the foundation stone was laid by Rev James Gray on 5th June 1932 in honour of the pioneers of the Transvaal Goldfields and Rand Pioneers.

James Hall Transport Museum

  • James Hall Transport Museum, Pioneers Park, Turf Rd – Some exhibits on the outer side of museum

SAS Rand Naval Unit

  • SAS Rand Naval Unit, Pioneers Park – Ruins of the buildings which used to hosts the inland SAS Rand naval Base at Wemmer Pan. The foundation stone was laid on 16 July 1938. The stone was relocated to the National Museum of Military History in Johannesburg, the unit was decommissioned on 27 November 2004.

Pioneer Park

  • Pioneer Park – purchased by the municipality from the gold mines in 1920 – originally called Wemmer Pan Park and renamed Pioneers Park in 1924. The pan is used for sailing and rowing boats. Have a musical fountain until late 1980’s. No longer in use due to the copper piping been stolen and never restored.
