Daisy de Melker House

Daisy de Melker House, 70 Turf Club St – another address given as 22 Tulley st – The female murderer stayed in the area from 1909 until 1922. She poisoned two husbands and her 20-year-old son. She was given the dead sentence.
Klipriverberg Concentration Camp Cemetery

Klipriverberg Concentration Camp Cemetery – cnr Columbine Ave & Maluti St, Suideroord – During the 2nd Anglo Boer War the concentration camp was at Turffontein Horse Racecourse. The cemetery was laid out in the form of coffins. The cemetery contains 692 graves. A Memorial wall is on the site with 12 headstones imbedded. Also included on the site is a Centenary Voortrekker memorial of 1838.
