NABOOMSPRUIT

Founded on the farm Vischgat (other sources say farm Naboomspruit which belonged to Richard Curry) in 1907. In 1908 it was sold by the Waterberg Land Company to African Townships. The name derived from Khoikhoi of the Naboom (Euphorbia tree) which grows there. In 2002 the name changed to Mookgophong. The name is of Pedi origin and refers to the tree.
