A railway stop close to Ladysmith on the way to Wasbank, a small farming and coal mining centre. Known for the Anglo Boer War Battle of Elandslaagte, 21 October 1899. One of the successes for the British.

This was the end of the of the volunteer Hollander corps as a unit. At the foot of the hill is the Burgher memorial containing the names of those wo fell in the battle.
